    Using AutoCad data (2003)

I don't know much about AutoCad, but someone as asked me if it's possible to import data from AutoCad to Excel? Should they use AutoCad to save data in a text format to do this? Thanks, Andy.

I dont know much about AutoCad. Have a look and see if this link provides more for you to use! It seems there is an add-in or Active -X control needed which provides a dynamic link between the graphic and excel.

Andy, what kind of data are they trying to import? I used AutoCad briefly, my school upgraded to some 3-d technical architecture <img src=/w3timages/censored.gif alt=censored border=0> that I didn't care too much for....

If this is a one time thing, and if AutoCAD can export the data in CSV format, then that could be opened in Excel. If you need to do this often, there are products available that do this more dynamically.
