    Page Numbering (2003 SP1)

    I understand how to get an Arabic page number to show up that is different from the page number in the status bar with something like this:

    { = { Page } - 1 }

    How do I get this to work with roman numerals?

    Something like this doesn't place an i on the second pagebecause it simplifies as shown after the arrow, and Word lays an egg:

    { = { Page * roman} - 1 } -> { = {ii} - 1}

    And this doesn't seem to work because Word doesn't understand putting a roman numeral subtraction:

    { = { Page * roman } - i }

    Try this:

    { ={ PAGE } - 1 * Roman }

    (For others reading this: the brackets { } are field brackets, inserted by pressing Ctrl+F9, you shouldn't type them yourself)
