Large Contracts in Reports (Access 2002)

    Hello-

I'm creating a small database for my sister. She currently has a word document she enters data in (the main sheet they give the sales reps) and then she reenters the data in one of 6 contracts for the merchant to sign.

We figured we could simplfy things, so we created everything in access but the problem comes in with the lengthy contracts (5 - 6 pages) when we attempt to copy and paste them into a report (where we will add the fields that will be populated) they are either too large or in the case when we inserted the word document it would only show us the first page in the report. Does anyone know what I can do without retyping these contracts?

You might keep the contracts in Word, but fill in the data from Access. There are basically two ways to do this:
    - Mail merge with Access as data source. See Managing Merges with Access.
    - Using Automation to control Word from Access in code. See Automation 101
Both tutorials are on WendellB's website and contain lots of useful links.

Thanks Hans! I'll take a look at those. I never thought of keeping it in Word...

I'll come back with any questions...

I had something very similar to do using Word a couple of years ago, and I created a Word template, set Bookmarks in it where each bit of data from Access needed to fit, and then used Automation to create a Word document from the Word template with all the bookmarks populated.
