    Name a range

I was trying to import data from a spreadseet into another application and the operation failed and I was asked to name a range, whatever that means.
Could you please explain how you go about naming a range in the spreadsheet.
    Thanks

    Re: Name a range

The simplest way is to highlight the block of cells, by clicking and dragging the white cross mouse pointer. Then click in the box to the left of the formula bar. It will probably have a cell reference in it. Overtype that refeence with the name and press enter. <img src=/S/bingo.gif border=0 alt=bingo width=15 height=22>

Or you select Insert >> Define >> Name and fill in the dialog box.
