    wdNextCase (word97)

    I'm having trouble finding a definitive, well, definition of wdNextCase.
    It seems to me that it cycles in sequence {Upper, Lower, Sentence}
    I'd appreciate confirmation.
    <pre>Sub Macro3()
    Selection.Range.Case = wdNextCase
    End Sub</pre>

    You're correct. Setting Case = wdNextCase is equivalent to pressing Shift+F3, which cycles from lower case to Sentence case to UPPER CASE and back.

    Re: wdNextCase (word97)

    According to MS, the Case Property (Microsoft Word 97 Language Reference) can be one of the following WdCharacterCase constants:
    wdLowerCase, wdNextCase, wdTitleSentence, wdTitleWord, wdToggleCase, or wdUpperCase.

    In my experience, you just get the three Hans mentioned, when cycling through.

    Thanks Hans & Alan; I continue to be amazed at the paucity of material in the VBA help files. Would it have been so difficult to include a description of what wdNextCase actually DOES?!!!!!

    Five of the six options for Case correspond to those in the Format | Change Case dialog. The remaining one wdNextCase corresponds, as noted, to the keyboard shortcut Shift+F3 which only cycles between lower case, sentence case and upper case.

    That same reference gives the enumeration of the WdCharacterCase constants as:

    <table border=0><td>Constant </td><td>Value </td><td>wdFullWidth </td><td>7 </td><td>wdHalfWidth </td><td>6 </td><td>wdHiragana </td><td>9 </td><td>wdKatakana </td><td>8 </td><td>wdLowerCase </td><td>0 </td><td>wdNextCase </td><td>-1 </td><td>wdTitleSentence </td><td>4 </td><td>wdTitleWord </td><td>2 </td><td>wdToggleCase </td><td>5 </td><td>wdUpperCase </td><td>1 </td></table>

    > reference gives the enumeration

    Why do I get the feeling that Bill Gates can't count? As soon as my backup is complete, I'm gonna give "3" a whirl .........
