    Changing + - signs (2002)

    Hi,

I have a report that is used as a bill. All the figures calculate the way they should but the user is concerned re the appearance. Balance due appears as a negative number and credits appear as a positive. Although the math is correct it is confusing to the person receiving the invoice. Is there a way to reverse the + or minus sign. So, if the figure is -$20.00 it would appear as 20.00 and visa versa. I realize this would affect the math so I would not use this control in the calculation itself but only for appearance sake on the invoice.

    Thanks,

Set the Format property of all text boxes whose sign is to be reversed to

    <code>"-$"#,##0.00;$#,##0.00;$#,##0.00</code>

If you select multiple text boxes (click and shift+click or drag a rectangle around them), you can set the Format property for all at once. You can also format one text box the way you want, then use the Format painter (the paint brush button on the toolbar) to copy the formatting to other text boxes.

    Multiply the result by -1.

    Hi Hans,

Just saw this post. Thanks for the info on the paint brush! I've never used it before. What a tool.
