    Stop/Start programatically (XP)

I want to get PowerPoint to refresh on-the-fly when page content changes but everything I have researched says that is not possible so I have an idea but I don't know if it can be done...

Can PowerPoint VBA be programmed to do something like the following pseudo code says:

    1. Look for file serverfileshareflagfile.001 about every 10 seconds **WHILE** running a slideshow.
    2. If flagfile exists then close (without saving) current PPT, reopen same PPT file and restart slideshow. Delete flagfile.001.
    3. Goto step1 above.

I have not played with PowerPoint VBA enough to know if you can do that sort of thing while running a slideshow, but you might as well give it a try. It looks like the basic commands you would need are there - whether they can be used during a slide show is the issue.
