    Type function (2k)

I want to be able to test whether a character is text or a number. Looking through the help file I thought that the TYPE worksheet function should do this. When I tried to use it I get the message that Type is not a recognised function.

    Any ideas?

You can't use Excel worksheet functions in Access (at least, not without a lot of extra code).
Where do you want to do this? In a query, or in a form? And do you want to test the value of a field or text box, or an individual character? It would help if you could provide detailed information.

    Hans

I have found a solution - using the IsNumeric function.

My confusion came about because the TYPE function is lsted in the ACCESS help files. I therefore assumed it was an Access function.

There seems to be an error in the Access 2000 help files - it lists Excel worksheet functions. This has been corrected in Access 2002.
