Scheduling an Out of Office (2002 SR3)

Is there any way for someone to schedule the Out of Office Assistant? Let's say the I am leaving on vacation for three weeks. I'm afraid that I will forget to set the Out of Office Assistant, so I would like to tell Outook (or the Exchange server) that the Out of Office should be activated next Monday and turn itself off automatically when I return.

    Thanks,

    Gilles

Not that I am aware of. My usual fallback is simply to ring someone at work if I forget and ask them to enable the OOO assistant. IT can probably also simply redirect your mail to someone else if necessary.

    Rory,

    Is this still the case?
Are there any plug-ins or the like that facilitate this kind of feature.

I'm a former Lotus Notes user and Notes mail has this available.
It's a very nice feature to have, as it is often in the hectic hours before leaving, that one forgets these things. With a scheduling feature you can set it many days in advance, when you have the time for it...

PS: Wish there were a knob on the TV to turn up the intelligence. There's a knob called "brightness," but that doesn't work

No change, as far as I know. If you have Outlook Web Access, you should be able to turn Out-of-Office on and off from anywhere.

You may want to have a look at this article about scripting an Exchange server to automate OOO (but, having skimmed through it, you may have a battle on your hands trying to persuade an IT department to implement it!)
