    Date based query (Access 2000)

    Hi

    I want to be able to do a query thats uses one value upto a date, then after that date uses a seperate value i.e. the price of a product up untill 31st december is

    If it's a simple matter of the date always being 31st December, you could simply use an expression in your query. If it's more complicated, and some products change 1 Nov, and others change 1 Dec, etc, then you need a more complex structure, and should probably actually store the price in the sale transaction. Otherwise, you have to do what is called a calculated join where you determine what window the product falls in, and then do a join on the calculated value - not good from a performance perspective.
