    RE: USB 2.0 Notebook Card

I have bought a Belkin USB 2.0 Notebook Card for my portable. I have a feeling that that it's not recognised as a high speed card. Is there any way I can test this? If it's not recognised as a high speed, i.e. it still works as a regular USB 1.1, is there anything that could be done? I have Windows XP SR1. Thanks.

Does the laptop have a USB2.0 interface?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

That's what the Belkin card does - slots into the side of the PC and has two 2.0 USB slots. The computer does not recognise it.

    Based on What???
If your computer only supports USB 1.1, , plugging in a USB 2.0 expansion card will NOT convert it to USB 2.0. The USB expansion card is backward compatible with USB 1.1 BUT it will NOT "upgrade" your system to 2.0.

Re: RE: USB 2.0 Notebook Card

For a start, the USB 2.0 drivers have not been installed.

I have checked with rge computer store who have confirmed that the card does provide a 2.0 capability, irrespective of whether the machine has USB 1.1 ports. Check the Belkin site for further details. I'm going to take the machine in and they will look at it. I'll report back.

Could you post a link to the appropriate Belkin page? And please let us know the outcome of the visit to your dealer.
