    mp3 error (XP Service Pack 2)

    When I right click on mp3 files, I get the following error message:
    ================================================== ================================
    EXPLORER.EXE - APPLICATION ERROR
    The instruction at "0x7c822a02" referenced memory at "0x5f534449". The memory could not be "read".
    Click on OK to terminate the program.
    Click on CANCEL to debug the program.
    ================================================== =================================

    ...and Windows Explorer closes.

    Any help on this would be appreciated.

    Did this just start happening? What have you changed? Have you run the usual virus, spyware scanning tools mentioned at Anti Adware, Spyware, Hijack? Have you tried a system restore? Following several threads from this Google Search: mp3 "explorer.exe" error seems to imply some malware at work.

    Turned out that removing "acoustica wav<>mp3 converter" fixed the problem...

    Thanks for your reply.
