I don't have Acrobat -- I use the print-to-PDF products pdfFactory and CutePDF Writer on my different computers -- but I've heard that you have several methods to generate PDFs. Does this occur with only one of the methods and work properly with any of the others?
It seems to work fine for me.
Word 2003 SP1
Acrobat 6.0.3.30
Converted using the PDFMaker Macro

Hi Stuart
Where is the PDF Maker macro?
I have only tried using the Acrobat PDF menu in Word, then selecting "Convert to PDF". Nothing in Acrobat has been customised - just a straight install out of the box.
Thanks
The PDFMaker macro is the one that runs from the Acrobat menus. I used the same Convert to PDF as you!
What versions of Word and Acrobat are you using?

I am using WordXP and Acrobat 7. The same problem was also happening with Acrobat 6.
Strange, I have no idea what might be causing this. Can you post your Word document for me to convert, just in case it is a problem with the specific document.

I'm using Word XP and Acrobat 5.0.5 and this doesn't happen.
Hi Stuart, Here is the Word document that I created to demonstrate the problem.
Nothing wrong with your document, it converts to a perfectly normal looking PDF file for me. I guess it must be something to do with the configuration or version of Word or Acrobat that you have.

I have seen this problem in both Acrobat 6 and 7. It seems peculiar to the use of the use of the use of STYLEREF fields when you have tagging turned on in PDFmaker. If you generate the PDF file with no tags, does the problem persist?
