Text in task bars (2000 and 2003)

How do you type text inside a task bar? I have tried using Bar Styles, Text tab and then typing my text in the Inside box but it wants a field.

Is there any other way apart from a text box?

    Alice,

The Text tab of the Format Bar Styles dialog box will only give you a field inside the task bars. You might create a custom text field for tasks, then you could make your entries into the custom field then bring the field into the inside of the task bars.

    Hi Carla
Thanks for the reply. Is it possible to centre the text inside the bars?

    Alice,

I have had some success in making the text look vertically aligned better by using a combination of
    1. Format ,Layout and adjusting the size of the task bars slightly larger
    2. Changing the font style and size in Format ,Text Styles ,Text-Inside Bars
I do not know of a way to get it to adjust horizontally. It always looks a little offset to me.
