    Heading styles with Autotext (2002)

Would appreciate help with the following:
Have a numbered style linked to Heading 5 and a sample entry saved as an AutoText entry. If the style is applied manually, everything is fine, but if I insert it using AutoText, my Heading 2 and Heading 3 undergo a name change! ("Heading 2,Chapter Title" and "Heading 3,Section"). Any ideas?

This sounds like the autotext entries in your template use these styles + the style alias. When you add the autotext to the document, the style alias comes in with it.

To get rid of this problem
    - Insert each of the problem autotexts into a file
    - Remove the style aliases from your style names
    - Overwrite the autotexts with the cleaned up content
    - Save the template.

Thanks Andrew, have already tried that and no success. Even tried recreating both the styles and the AutoText in Normal.dot and still get the same problem.

Are you able to remove a style alias once it is in the document?

Yes, I can modify the Heading 2 and Heading 3 styles to remove the 'alias', which is what I have been doing as a last step when the document is complete. However, I would prefer to fix the problem, as other users of the template don't necessarily do so!
