Form control source (A2k)

I have a form set up (go figure, right? ), that is basically a backbone for a set of tabs. On one of the tabs, I will have a list box to select a record from the database, and set the focus of the form to that record. My problem that I have run into in the past is that after a record is selected and information is edited, I will get an error "The information has already been changed. Please re-edit the record" when attempting to go to another record. I guess I'm asking for the ("correct" or "proper") AND ("fastest") way to use a listbox to set the form's focus when the listbox is on a tab.

I think Access is getting to my head, my text in red is composed like a query!

A tab control is only a container for controls, no more. It doesn't really matter whether a list box is on a tab page or not.

The easiest way to create a list box to select a record is to turn on Control Wizards (the magic wand button on the Toolbox) before creating a list box. The list box wizard will offer three options. Select the 3rd one, then follow the instructions. I've never had problems with such a list box.

Hi Jeremy,
I've run into that problem when I've opened a Recordset used to find a record and have "forgotten" to close that recordset...or have "inadvertently" used a dynaset rather than a snapshot. In other words I'm trying to edit a record while that record is present in an editable form somewhere else.
Just a guess as I don't know how it is you're searching.

Gary - I was using a dynaset . I'll remember that this time. Thank you!
