    no footer (Word 2000)

I received a document from outside our office that does not show the dashed line bordered footer in some of the sections. If you click on View, Header and footer, the header shows but there is no area marked as the footer. The margins are set as 1 inch all around. Any ideas?

    Hi there

This is an interesting question. It appears the person who created this document knew how to change the attributes of the Headers and Footers.

This link may help and give you some tips how to adjust headers and footersMicrosoft help on Headers/Footers

Thanks for the link--the problem however wasn't information in the footer, it was the footer itself. Usually even if there is not information in a footer or header, you see the dotted line box that defines the space. That is what is missing.
