    Error message (A2000 SP3)

On start up this morning one of our out of state branch office got an error message
"MS jet database engine could not find the object msys.db...."

The machine was re-booted and a back up copy of the database was installed.

Access itself will start and an old copy of the database will open.

    Any suggestions.

That almost certainly means the database (hopefully the front-end, not the back-end) is corrupt, as Jet is telling you it can't find one or more of the system tables that are normally hidden. The first step is to try a repair, but that usually fails when a system table is trashed. If that fails, you are pretty much stuck with restoring from a backup.

Many thanks. We were able to repair the database.
