    Euroconversion

A customer of us has an Access database with a field that contains currency in NLG. He wants to convert these to euro's but keep the history in NLG. I think the only solution is adding a column with the euro in it (based on the column for NLG).
    Anyone have some suggestions?

    Re: Euroconversion

    I would suggest another solution.
Make a copy of the database you want to convert.
Ensure that the copy becomes read only.
Convert the original database to euro.

The main reason I am suggesting this solution is the fact that in a couple of years everyone will be used to calculating in euro's in Holland. The dutch guilder will be like a foreign currency then. If you keep guilders in your database you can expect another conversion!
There is also the risk that people continue working in guilders, just because they still have access to them, you do not want that!

If users complain about seeing only euro's you can point out that there is an excellent tool to convert euro's to guilders on screen: EuroCross from CMG (no I am not getting any commission, although I would appreciate it).
