Camera feature with page breaks (Excel 2002)

We seem to have an issue with pages breaking at different places in the worksheet and in Print Preview. We are using a Camera picture of another page of the workbook, because the column widths are different from the other worksheets. We defined the picture area to repeat on each page. We defined the print area from the row below where the picture ends. the print preview looks fine, but when we close print preview, the print area dashed lines in the worksheet are at different row then where the preview broke.

We figure it has something to do with the use of the Camera picture, but is there a way to fix the issue?

Just curious what affect it has on - How does it print? As Print Preview shows?

The worksheet prints like the print preview not like the worksheet page breaks display.

It appears this camera tool does not work for 2000 and above very well ! Have a go at saving the workbook as Excel 5/95 format, closing it and then reopening it and then saving it in 2002 format....can't promise this will work but a number of sites have identified this as a possible solution for things like click through etc

Nice try, but the break in the worksheet and the Print Preview are still different. At least we know that we are not the only ones having this issue.

Does anyone know of another way to get information from multiple worksheets to print on one piece of paper besides using Camera?

    Thanks, Jezza.

The macro from Allen is interesting, but does do exactly what we want. Our worksheet should print as two pages with the Camera area on each page.

I've attached the file so that everyone can see what is happening. The page break does not occur where we want, but it is difficult to place the page break, because what you see in the worksheet is not what prints.

    Thanks

I have just had a look, previewed and printed and it looks perfect. I have your Client/Project/Prepared by/checked by picture on both headers with the page breaks in the right place!!!!!

    I am using Excel 2002( 10.2614.3501) SP1

I changed the page breaks and again it did the right thing! Spooky

Excel is not very good at WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get). This type of problem is not uncommon. About the only suggestion I have is to make sure that you have the latest versions of the print and display drivers for your printer and display card. That will sometimes help.

    Have you tried linking cells.

To get data onto sheet 1 from sheet 2 you can select the data on sheet 2 and copy....switch back to sheet 1 and after selecting a cell choose EDIT | PASTESPECIAL | PASTE LINK. Do the same for any other sheets...
Once all the data is compiled onto Sheet1 print Sheet 1....if it must be on ONE piece of paper...set the page setup to print Fit 1 page wide by 1 page tall!

Re: Camera feature with page breaks (Excel 2002)

We are dealing with network printers and the drivers for the printers are from the network. The drivers are updated on a regular basis.

The computers that we are using are different, I have a desktop and the creator is using a laptop. The workbook appears to print and display the same on all the computers we have tried.

Re: Camera feature with page breaks (Excel 2002)

Our computers are using SP2 (10.4524.4219). Of course this seems to mean that MS fixed the Camera feature with SP2. Just kidding!

When we look at Page Break Preview, the page break is right above the "Production" row (row 61). When we go to Print Preview, the first line of the second page is "dump to waste pad" (row 57). Very strange?!??!

Re: Camera feature with page breaks (Excel 2002)

    Thanks, Rudi.

The reason we are using Camera is because the format of one page doesn't match the format of the other. The column widths and row heights are different. The Paste Link gives us the values in the other page, but uses the format of the receiving cells. We actually have the company logo on the page used with the Camera feature, but I deleted the logo from the attached file to keep the file size down.
