What did you delete when you were "cleaning up my system"?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Re: Buffer overrun detected! (IE v6.0)

Hard to say, I run CCleaner, Index.dat, Window Washer, X-Cleaner, Ad-aware, Bazooka Scanner, Big Fix, Microsoft AntiSpyware (Wouldn't update for some reason), Spybot S&D, TrendMicro PC-cillin, Trojan Hunter, Reg Organizer, Reg Vac, Reg Compact, Reg Clean. Don't know if it means anything but before all this, when I went to the Windows Update page it would not function but the Office update page works fine. Would a "Hijack This" list help ? Also, if I open a web page in Outlook 2003, I don't get the error message. Thanks for any suggestions.

When you ran CCleaner did you save a backup for the registry? - CCleaner prompts you for this. If so you can reinstate the registry part of the cleaning.

I turned off my computer last night and this morning the problem seemed to NOT be there. Is that possible or reasonable ???

If you uninstalled software and did not restart, it's possible that the clean-up wasn't actually finished last night and was completed during the reboot.

Or it's also possible that whatever ccleaner deleted from the registry was re-created by IE when your system was rebooted. This of course is pure speculation <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
