    A) Answer A

    Here is my official solution

    <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold"> If answer A would be correct, then answer B ("Answer A or B") would also be correct. If answer B would be correct, then answer C ("Answer B or C") would also be correct. This leads to the conclusion that if either answer A or answer B would be the correct answer, there are at least two correct answers. This contradicts with the statement that "there is only one correct answer to this question". If answer C would be correct, then there are no contradictions.

    So the solution is: answer C.</span hide>

    OK, I am assuming:
    <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">
    1. The answers referred to in the answers are the answers to this question, not some other.
    2. Answer A can be correct, since it does not contradict itself. If it can be correct, then it must be as only one answer is correct.
    3. Answers B and C cannot be correct, since they allow other answers to be correct, and there is only one correct answer.

    Later edit: of course, if I had not been in the pub at lunch (excuse, excuses) I would have realised that OR does not necessarily mean that both could be correct! <img src=/S/doh.gif border=0 alt=doh width=15 height=15>
