    dialer.exe (Win XP SP2)

I've lost my ability to dial from within programs. I found the dialer.exe file, but when I click to open it, get a message ' one of the components is missing or not properly registered. use regsvr32.exe from command line to register components'. I tried that, though maybe not correctly. Does anyone know where I can get a new copy of dialer.exe?

What progams are you using when this happens? Do you get an error message? Is the modem even accessed? What has changed on your system?

    Re: dialer.exe (Win XP SP2)

I'm trying to dial from AZZ cardfile. The error message is "Windows cannot find dialer.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly---etc. What changed was that I was installing a new fax program, uninstalled and reinstalled my modem - which shoudn't have been necessary if I had ben supplied the right fax program, but yes, my modem works OK for fax and dial-up ISP when I use that.
