I have considerable problem with inappropriate offsetting of file time and date stamps according to time zones. I move between the UK and Vietnam, logging on to a domain in VN, but mostly not in the UK. Every time I return from VN, I find a random selection of files are out by 6 or 7 hours (depending on whether I went during BST or not). These are not new files, or those modified whilst in VN, though I can't be sure they weren't accessed.

Can anyone explain in detail what's happening and what I can do about it? It wreaks havoc with trying to keep stuff synchronised.

As a workaround, does anyone know of a synchronisation utility which allows provision for offsetting (by ignoring time differences of exactly a certain value)? I usually use foldermatch, but my suggestions for such a facility have been ignored.

Thanks
