    Re: Workgroup permissions confusion (2002 SP1)

    Francois,
    I finally found the post through searching for permissions problems, and indeed running this code, restores the ability to make tables.

    Dim db As Database
    Dim con As Container
    Set db = DBEngine(0)(0)
    Set con = db.Containers("Tables")
    con.UserName = strUser
    con.Permissions = con.Permissions Or DB_SEC_CREATE

    And the thread links the ms access workgroup info, HERE . (all good infos)

    Workgroup permissions confusion (2002 SP1)

    Screenshot reduced in size by HansV because it caused horizontal scrolling. PLEASE don't post images larger than 640x480 pixels.

    I need to give the user 'DCON' permission to make new tables, 'DCONTROL' is the group assigned only to DCON. But, no matter what i do, user DCON cannot seem to be able to make new tables in the db.

    The screenshots below show DCON, and DCONTROL group, with all the boxes ticked.... yet, if i try to create a new table, it will come up with an error message about 'do not have access to table1' etc.

    I thought i knew how permissions worked, but i guess not.. !
