I have an Epson printer, and the only solution I've found is to set the page at Landscape mode instead of Portrait mode.
As a side note, I 'never' print from the web without first going to Print Preview - the size printed depends mostly on who authored the site and how it was designed. <img src=/S/coffeetime.gif border=0 alt=coffeetime width=32 height=48>

I think you will find Bob's answer is the best work around for the moment. With the introduction of new XHTML standards you will find more and more Corporate sites will be adding new CSS style sheets to their pages which adjust fonts and screen imaging to fit A4 pages when directly printing but I wouldn't hold your breath for it to happen to soon <img src=/S/hmmn.gif border=0 alt=hmmn width=15 height=15>

If there is something a particulary like and I want it on one page I screen dump into word but that is a real fuss and not as easy as a simple change to the page layout in the print menu.

The page designer made a choice to have the page optimized for the screen and your output needs are relegated to second place. In Firefox, you can choose "shrink to fit" for pages that are too wide for your margins, but in some cases, this will reduce the readability of graphics. If you have one of the more complete versions of Adobe Acrobat, you can import a web page and use Acrobat's tools to shrink it to fit. But all of this is a hassle, isn't it!!

The Adobe answer is one I toyed with, but as you say a real hassle <img src=/S/hairout.gif border=0 alt=hairout width=31 height=23>

I have not got the full version of Adobe on this machine but could you print directly to Distiller to get the right result? I haven't tried it but maybe somebody out there could try it and see if they can provide the answer?

    Thanks everybody...

I was surprised to learn that this is a universal web construction phenomenon; & not related to the printer software.

BTW - I've also been dumping to Word (highlighting only the text table contents & copying & pasting.)

This problem has been around since IE3.0, so it is nothing new.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
