    Personal file (Excel 2000)

I know that this is a very elementary question but my problem is as follows:

I am busy customising Excel on a new computer. I recorded 2 Macros to the Personal.xls file and linked the macros to new buttons on my toolbar. The problem is that everytime I open Excel the Personal workbook open. I saved macros before to the Personal file on my other computer and run the macros without the Personal workbook opening everytime.

Please advise how I can solve this problem

    Thank you

Do you mean that Personal.xls opens in a visible window? If so, select Window | Hide (while Personal.xls is the active workbook), then quit Excel. Excel will ask whether you want to save changes to Personal.xls, click Yes. Next time you start Excel, Personal.xls will be invisible.

    Hans

Thank you. You solved my problem. Previously I tried Format | Sheet | Hide which is obviously why it did not work.

    Thank you again
