    Solitaire Question (XP)

I read the previous posts on solitaire's speed on XP computers Vs W98 but they don't answer what I am seeing.

My three XP computers run the solitaire cascade slower but the computer with the fastest processor, the most RAM and the best video card is the slowest.

The fastest computer is the one with the slowest processor, the least amount of RAM and the slowest video card.

    Anyone elso notice this?

    Nothing else to do...

Interesting, I have always assumed that as memory etc got faster so would the game. I remember playing it on an old 486 with 8Mb ram and it was like an old crock. As the PC's got better so did the game speed especially FreeCell. Do you have any underlying processes that are memory hungry running in the background of the two XP machines?

    Nice cartoon, Hans!

Isn't it amazing how close some cartoons are to Real Life! (Dilbert...?)

I think I'm addicted to that game. I find myself playing ever chance I get., one of the ladies could be me. I also printed it and it holds a place of honor on my bulletin board.Pogo is the place where I play each and every night, sometimes during the day too.

    I love that picture,thanks Hans.

On the Easter egg link: What does this part mean?

    2. Move the cursor, the falling cards speed up. If you get the right timing you can make a matrix card effect.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

When you have finished a game of Solitaire, or when you press Shift+Alt+2, the cards cascade across the window. If you move the mouse pointer (in the Solitaire window) during the cascade, it speeds up. By alternating between moving the mouse pointer and holding it still, you get a kind of speed up - slow down effect vaguely reminiscent of the effect used in the movie The Matrix.

    Re: Solitaire Question (XP)

Well, still not working for me --- I *did* get the cascade, just no effect with mousing. I've spent enuff time on this particular effort . However, thanks for the info. Or maybe it's because I didn't see Matrix and don't know what to expect.

    Thanks again,

    Callie
