    mshta.exe (Windows XP Pro)

    Hi

    mshta.exe Does anyone know what this is? it has suddenly started to appear on my machine and stops certain application from running.

    Mshta.exe is part of Windows, it is the Microsoft HTML Application Host application. How do you determine that it stops applications from running? Which applications are affected?

    It stops me logging on to a Company Server It gives a Microsoft HTML Warning

    Mshta.exe - Application Error The instruction at "0x637bb64f" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program Click CANCEL to debug the program.

    That is a very old patch. This article 100 Percent CPU Utilization When You Use DHTML to Add Cells to a Table says that it does not apply to IE 6.0 SP-1. Additionally, if you have XP SP-2 installed you should have the fix.
