Thunderbird shortcut on desktop (Mozilla Thunderbi

I am wondering if anyone here has managed to pre-load the subject line from a desktop shortcut?

I just learned how to do a 1-click email with a shortcut on my desktop.

It is an Internet Shortcut whose properties holds "mailto:nyed@flsc.ca?cc=mlod@idirect.com?subject=I dent"

Double-clicking the desktop shortcut icon works fine - launches Thunderbird, Compose window, completes the TO and CC boxes,
but sadly loads the "?subject=Ident" into the CC line.

I tried placing the "?subject" to the left of the "?cc", but that loads the cc material into the subject line.

I can remove the "?subject=Ident" and type it in by hand, but am wondering if anyone here has managed to pre-load the subject line from a desktop shortcut?

Try using only one ? (question mark) and replacing the others with & (ampersands). Just like any URL, the ? demarcates the string of arguments being sent to the resource and the & is the separator between name=value pairs. Does it help?

Added: It is useful to replace spaces with %20, particularly if you intend to add a body=text after the subject.

    Hey J.(upiter).

Does Chris know you're playing with his computer again?
If he finds out, it'll be another 'time out' session!

    Have a Great day!!!

He's going to rebuild Win98/WinXP on it, probably tomorrow. I hope he does a better job than I.

Strange as it may sound, this little desktop shortcut is a great boon.

While working on a project I am wont to fire off a short email to the two others on the programming team. While the mail client is usually loaded, it seems like work to switch to it (gotta be Alt-Tab because the bottom of the screen is full), choose Write, navigate to the first address, click TO, navigate to the second address, click CC, type in a subject line and then click in the text body.

Now I click on the desktop icon and a click on the shortcut lets me "hold that thought" and get on with life, instead of servicing the computer's needs! That the Subject line is automatically loaded with a common and recognisable code (to us three) is good news for the other two, as well.
