    Validating test questions (Excel 2003)

    Hello,
I need a little help counting the number of incorrect test questions (marked in red by conditional formatting). The number of incorrect answers should go in the "# Wrong" column.

The way you have set it up makes it very difficult to modify - if you change the correct answer to a question, you have to modify the conditional formatting too. And although it's possible to perform counts based on conditional formatting, it takes VBA code.

I have inserted a new row 3 with the correct answers, and used that both in the conditional formatting and in the "wrong answers" count. For example in AZ4: =SUMPRODUCT(--(B4:AY4<>B$3:AY$3))
The -- is to force the result of the comparison to be numeric.

    See attached version.

Note: the workbook you attached contained an empty VBA procedure. Unless it's necessary for the question, it's better to attach files without macros.
