    Status Bar Word 2002 (10.0.26090)

    Afternoon -

Word 2002 is new to me. I work in Normal View; however, I find the only way for the Status Bar to show the items is to switch views back and forth. Is this a known "gottcha"? Is there a fix for this?

    Many thanks.

The status bar hasn't changed significantly in Word 2002 compared to earlier versions. If you display it at all, it should work in all views. What are the 'items' you mention?

    Hi, Hans -

The Items are Pg, At, Ln. As I said, if I switch to another view then back to Normal, the items are there with correct pg number showing.

Select Tools | Options... (while in Normal view).
    Activate the General tab.
Make sure that the check box Background Repagination is ticked.
If this option is off, the items you mention aren't updated in Normal view.

Again my thanks, Hans. I thought I had turned Background Pagin. on. But you were right, it wasn't.

    Ta.
