This may not be possible, but I'd like to print in 75% gray. You see, I am printing a lot of resum

More than 16 "colours" became available in the version of Word which followed Word 97, so I suspect the same is true of the multiple shades of grey.
Keep the font in black, but check your printer driver "Properties" for what on HP printers is called a "Quality" setting, Best, Normal, or Draft. Printing in Draft may be adequately "black" for you, and save an amount of ink/toner. Other manufacturers undoubtedly have different "quality" naming conventions, but a hunt around should give an equivalent.
But when all's said and done, to have something legible on a piece of paper you have to deposit appropriate quantities of some opaque substance!
