Folder bold with new message (outlook 2003)

I have organized several projects into different PST folders and make them all available on my folders list. I have a pretty extensive set of rules that move messages to each folder based on the project criteria.

MY problem is that one folder name does not bold when messages are placed in there according to the rules I've developed. This in turn has resulted in my missing some critical messages in a timely manner. I have the folder/pst file as an outlook personal folder and I have checked my view settings, but can't seem to find why this one folder will not bold. All others are working fine.

Could this be linked to the Automatic Formatting setting that bolds unread messages? That is a function of the folder's view, so open that folder and see if it helps to change or reset the current view. If it's already the same as all the others, well... that is very mysterious!

I tried the reset view - no luck. Also looked at view options and couldn't see anything related to auto formating of new messages with a Bold option.

When you use Customize... or Define... for views, and then click Modify..., you get a panel of buttons, one of which is Automatic Formatting, and that is where the bolding of unread messages is set for that view. (See attached illustration.)

    I have that set up

The message is showing up bold when I open the folder, The folder name is not showing bold when there is a new message within the folder.

I'm not aware of any other setting related to unread messages. If you right-click the folder, does it say that it contains "Mail and Post" items? If so, the bolding should be automatic. Any chance your rule is marking the message as read in the process of moving them?
