    DVD Plus or Minus Disks

I have a vague recollection of reading that the DVD (minus) disks are more likely to be compatible with a wider range of DVD players than the DVD (plus) disk. Does anyone know if this is correct or not? My DVD RW drive will utilize both disks.

Re: DVD Plus or Minus Disks

It is my understanding that you are correct. The DVD-R discs have a higher compatibility with players than DVD+R.

Here is an article that discusses some of the differences (well, advantages of DVD+R).

I haven't tried playing a home-burned disc on many players, but I have NEVER had a problem with a DVD-R disc on any player.
