How could I create a VBA 'Rule' to save e-mail attachments (from a certain person) to a particlar directory?

Andrew, Outlook 97 and 98 do not have an integrated VBA environment - it was not available until Outlook 2000. In Outlook 97 and 98 it's necessary to use VBScript, and that involves some complexities and constraints. Take a look at <!mskb=167138>Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 167138<!/mskb> and outlook code. <!profile=JScher2000>JScher2000<!/profile>, who frequents this Forum, may be able to help you with VBScript.

In addition to JohnBF's suggestion, you may be able to externally automate Outlook 98 (not sure about 97) from Word using Word VBA. VBA can do some things that VBScript can't, so if you find a VBA code sample that sounds as though it will fit your needs, you might have better luck using Word as your host, illogical as that might seem!
