    Tab Stop on a textbox

We have a textbox on a form using Word 2000. On some of the machines in our organization, when the user is in the textbox and presses the tab key focus moves to the next textbox. This is what we want to happen. On other machines, when the user presses the tab key a tab is inserted into the textbox and focus remains on the textbox. Is this a setting that can be controlled? If so how?

I think this may be happening because of how you have the text boxes selected. On both machines, is the cursor flashing in the text box before you press the tab key? Is there any highlighting around the text box?

Re: Tab Stop on a textbox

In both cases we are able to type in the textbox (Flashing cursor). When we press the tab key in the first case the focus moves to the next textbox. This is what the behavior should be. In the second case, pressing the tab key inserts a tab space in the textbox (as though the user pressed crtl+tab)

    Hi gressb,

Is this a protected form you are using?

If so you might want to check that the form is protected on the workstations that are having the difficulty.
