    PST files (Office 2003)

A friend of mine said that he was having trouble with importing his .pst files from office 2000 into Office 2003. The problem as he stated was that 2003 wouldn't read the older pst files/ I thought that I had read something in here earlier regarding that and told him I would look for that information. I can't seem to find the thread that says anything about that. Anyone know?
    Thanks John

    Re: PST files (Office 2003)

Outlook 2003 PST files created to use UNICODE cannot be read by earlier versions of Outlook. But there's no immediate reason why your friend shouldn't be able to read a pre-2003 PST in Outlook 2003. Can you can post more exact details of what the user is attempting to do, how it's being attempted, and the problems and error messages?

If the 'older' pst file has been copied via a CD, check its attributes are not set to Read Only.
(Presumably the OL2000 pst isn't actually in use at the time it is being imported?)
