Track Changes (Office 2003 Professional Edition)

Why do the track changes disappear when copying and pasting to a new document? Is there a way to stop this?

Can you use File>Save As or Insert>File instead of copy and paste? If you bookmark the section you want to insert, the Insert File dialog lets you insert just that (see attached illustration). I assume the tracked changes still are preserved in inserting a range rather than the entire document, but I didn't actually test it. Hope this helps.
