    XIRR (Excel 2003)

Today, I dug up a spreadsheet that I had not used since some time in 2001.

The spreadsheet has cells with a forumula like =XIRR(F9:F10, E9:E10).
I'm getting the #NAME? error for such cells, "The formula contains unrecognized text".

E9 and E10 contain a formula that refers to a cell with a hard coded date, and F9 and F10 contain a formula that refers to a hard coded value (with the earliest value being negative).

    Am I doing something wrong?
Is there a problem importing such a spreadsheet into Excel 2003?

XIRR is part of the Analysis ToolPak add-in.

    Select Tools | Add-Ins...
Tick the check box for Analysis ToolPak.
    Click OK.

    Thanx.

I probably have not yet loaded that for Excel 2003.
