    NETWORKTIME??? (Excel 2000>)

Hi all ya beautiful people! (Long time no see!)

    A quick Q!

I have a client who needs a calculation to add up time within a normal 8 hour day, (8am to 4 pm). I considered the NETWORKDAYS Function and thought that the value can be multiplied by 8 to work out hours. This cannot be used though as the cumulative hours will not always add up to a full day!
Does anyone know of a function similar to NETWORKDAYS, but that calculates time?
    Tx

    Rudi

Please provide some details about the input, perhaps attach a sanitized version of the workbook.

    OK.

I'll see if I can get a "clean <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15>" version from the client to show the correct context of this question!

    tx for the response!

In the meantime while we wait for your excel workbook, have you thought about using the Timevalue function.

Timevalue converts a text value for a time

    ie

=TIMEVALUE("1:00 PM")-TIMEVALUE("12:00 PM")=0.041667 if you format the cell where the formula is it will give you 01:00:00 (hh:mm:ss)

Thx for your 2 cents! I don't think that will answer the Q quite right...but its useful to note what you giving! I'll probably only get the file by Monday next week! So this thread will go on hold for a couple of days!

    Cheers
