    Wordwrap in Autoshapes (2002 sp3)

I've been trying to make the default setting for autoshapes to include wrapping text. I set up a sample with all of the settings I want and then select the 'default for new objects' check box. If I set it up with 'Resize auto shape' selected, it sticks and all new shapes resize as I enter text. Similarly, if I select 'rotate text by 90 degrees' that sticks and all future shapes follow that setting. But if I clear that box and select instead the check box for 'word wrap text in auto shape' that option doesn't stick. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong.

    Thanks

Added: oops, this is the PowerPoint forum. Sorry!

    I think you'll have to:
    - Open Normal.dot.
    - Create an AutoShape.
    - Turn off text wrapping.
    - Set the AutoShape defaults.
    - Delete the AutoShape.
    - Save and close Normal.dot.
From then on, new documents based on Normal.dot should have text wrapping in AutoShapes turned off by default.

    Sorry about my previous reply.

From the newsgroups, I get the impression that there is no way to make this setting stick. <img src=/S/sad.gif border=0 alt=sad width=15 height=15>

(Strangely enough, it's "on" for me by default)

Thanks for that. I guess I'll just add it to my list of life's little mysteries.
