    Concatenate (Excel 2000)

    Hi all,

I'm trying to concatenate two cells with text, and add a comma last name comma first name. When I concatenate the cells what I get is last name 23 spaces, comma, then the first name. Is there a way to work around this problem...what I would like is last name, comma, first name in the same cell.

    Thanks,
    Darryl.

    Re: Concatenate (Excel 2000)

It would seem that your last name cell contains 23 trailing spaces afte rthe name. To get rid of them in the concatenated cell, use a formula like this:

    =TRIM(A1) & ", " & TRIM(B1)

where A1 and B1 are the cells containing the last name and first name, respectively.
