Text exceeds object (XP)

In converting some slides to a new design, I have some of them, like the one shown, where the text space exceeds the object space allocated to it. Since it displays normally, does this really matter? If so, I can fix it by dragging the border or using the menus but is there a quick keyboard shortcut to size it just right?

You can change the size of the text box, but it would be better to reduce the font size or to split the text into two slides.

It's converted from another design so none of the text objects are the same size right now anyway.

Resizing the placeholder probably won't have any effect... Unlike a text box you add, which generally grows and shrinks with its contents, the standard placeholders created as part of the slide master don't care how much or how little you put in them. Any excess text just continues to flow to the bottom and then past the bottom of the slide. Your viewers, on the other hand, might care if large parts of sentences go missing. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

(Your configuration may differ: there is an auto-fit feature that made me crazy, so I turned it off. )
