Deleting recall messages from Desktop Alert (Outlook 2003 SP1)

We are receiving an error when we receive a RECALL notice and delete it when it appears in the Desktop Alert "window". The first error message error message reads : "The custom form could not be opened. Outlook will use an Outlook form instead."

When we click OK another error message appears that reads: "You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on the object. See the folder contact or your system administrator"

Is this standard procedure? Can anyone explain to me why this is happening?

    Thanks for your help!

It's likely to be a corrupt forms cache problem running into a systems permissions problem.

If you are using custom forms, refresh them from whatever the source is, using Tools | Forms ... , or just by overwriting the form on disk.

If you are NOT using custom forms, clear the Forms Cache as <!profile=JScher2000>JScher2000<!/profile> explains in <post#=491440>post 491440</post#>.

I cleared the forms cache, just in case, but it didn't help.

Perhaps I'm not explaining this properly. The message that I am deleting via the Desktop alert is the message you receive when someone wants to recall an email. If I delete it via the Desktop alert, that's when the error messages start appearing.

I did understand your question that way, I get a warning message if I have already opened a message and subsequently get a recall request, but I don't kill the recall request via the desktop alert, and have not seen the message you are experiencing. I don't have a solution. (Yet. )
