Templates in 'New... ' diolog box (Word 2002)

when i open the 'new document...' dialog box, the 'new from template' options include several templates which now do not exist. I want to remove them from the dialog box but can't see a way to do this. Please tell me how to do this.
    Thanks

I assume that you mean the 'New Document' task pane. MSKB article HOW TO: Edit the Most Recently Used Template List in the New Document Task Pane in Word 2002 describes how to remove template listings. It involves editing the registry, so be careful.

Yes you are right, I am. Near the foot of the pane is a section called 'new from template' which has these obsolete entries. Clicking on them shows a message about the filename / path being wrong. I will try your suggestion and am sure it will work. Many thanks.
