    Fix-It (MSO 2003 SP-1)

Please tell me that there is a "tool" to repair a screwed up pst file.

It's showing at 350 megs, but all the folders are empty when viewed.

    Help?

    Try Scanpst.exe.
Its default location is C:Program FilesCommon FilesSystemMapi1033 (where 1033 is the language code for your installation, in this case US English)

    Paul:

Did, to no avail... I may be viewing a bombed-out file...

    Sigh...

Remember that the PST file contains ALL data, including the email, Contacts, Calender, To Do List, Notes, Journal and etc.

Are all these areas empty also?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Do you have another PST on your hard drive somewhere? Outlook folders don't usually just disappear. Even if you are experimenting with importing them into Outlook Express.

I dunno... All I know is that after a full search and rounding up of all pst's...

I got a 350 meg file with nothing in it, and it won't compress...

I'm just going to set it aside for now, and try to re-build it later...

    Thanks though...

Generally speaking, if the PST really is empty it will compress down to virtually nothing.

You might try different views and filters in case Outlook is somehow hiding information from you.

I couldn't see anything in the file -- contacts, messages, notes... Nada.

Oh well... That'll just be *another* adjustment to my backup procs....
