    Marking calendar item Private (2000)

    Hi

    I want a simple macro to make an existing calendar item private. Then I would assign the macro to a toolbar button or menu item.

    As there is macro recorder and I have no VBA help do to work's instalation, can anyone help with a simple macro to make an existing calendar item private?

    Thanks

    Chris

    Chris, why do you need a click a button to run a macro when there's a checkbox on the lower right corner of the Calendar Item?

    If I already have the item in my calendar, this saved me opening the item, clicking the private box and then saving and closing the item. One click on a button is quicker and easier.

    This should do what you need and also operate on multiple selected calendar items.

    Sub SetAppointmentPrivate()
    Dim lngC As Long

    For lngC = 1 To ActiveExplorer.Selection.Count
    With ActiveExplorer.Selection(lngC)
    If .Class = olAppointment Then
    .Sensitivity = olPrivate
    .Save
    End If
    End With
    Next lngC
    End Sub

    Lightly tested, post back if you have problems.

    Note: the code posted will set Private -all- Appointments in a Recurring Appointment series.

    Although most people do not view their calendar in a tabular format, should you wish to change lots of them at once, switching to a table view and having a Private column would be convenient.
