Printing from Print Preview (access 2003)

I have a workloads database, with a staff table (with an autonumber PK), and number of related tables that record particular types of duties undertaken in a year. These include Teaching, Subject Coordination, Student Supervision, Research and Admin.

I have a report that draws together everything a staff member is doing in a year. I has several subreports each linked to the main report by both the Staff MemberID and the Year. Year is in an unbound textbox whose value is set in code.

The subreport previews OK, and prints OK, <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #000000; font-weight: bold">except when it is Printed from Preview.</span hi>

If you do that you get the error that an expression is too complicated or typed incorrectly. The problem is only with one of the subreports (although each has the same linking and structure.)

I have cut it back to just three tables. The report has just the offending subreport.
I have also cut the linking fields back to StaffmemberID, and the same problem still occurs.

Any suggestions as to what is going on?
    Regards
    John

The text box bound to Role in the subreport is named StaffMemberID. This confuses Access while printing, apparently. If you name it Role or txtRole, the report should print OK from preview too. Why the problem doesn't occur when previewing or when printing directly, <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

    Thanks Hans again.

I must have done some cutting and pasting at some stage,

    That certainly fixes it.
