    RAS Connection

Does anybody know why RAS disconnects users after a few minutes of logging in? The average connection time is 30 min. Also, the connected time length varies with different users, some never gets disconnected at all and others disconnects after a few minutes into the dial-in. I have used two different types of Multi-modem adapter, Digiboard PC/8e ISA and MultiTech ISI5634PCI/I V.90 8xV.90 w/ISI both has 8 port connections.

    Specification:

    Proliant 3000
Windows NT 4.0 (RAS, BDC, & WINS)
    Service Pack 6
Digiboard PC/8e ISA (tried two different type)
MultiTech ISI5634PCI/I V.90 8xV.90 w/ISI (Currently using & locked at the system configuration)
    Dual Processor : 450 MHz (2)
    SystemRom (11/8/2000
    NTSSD2.22a

    Are you using static IP's?
Just wondering - if you are using DHCP could the leases be expiring?

I've used static & DHCP and no result. Currently it is set to DHCP with the lease of 3 days.

    Re: RAS Connection

Only other thing I can think of is the user end's modem set-up disconnecting after x minutes thru' inactivity, but i would expect you would have thought of that already.

Otherwise, any pattern you can see from user to user? In the UK we have something called 'Call Waiting' which is suposed to alert you if another call is trying to get through to you. I believe there is some setting for disabling or ignoring this.

The users gets diconnected while the PC is in use. I have thought about call waiting myself, but I don't have call waiting at home and I get bumped off and other users as well. Thanks for replying Leif. I know I have used up all my resource already. I appreciate any suggestion I can get. Thanks again.

Might be worth a quick trip to #284, but trawling through them can take a bit of time.
    Good luck.
